Empowering Insurance Literacy—For Employers, HR, and the Professionals Who Guide Them
I didn’t start my career in insurance. I started in HR. And like most people, I had no idea how the insurance industry actually worked. What I quickly realized was that no one has the time to teach you the insurance business.
Insurance is as complex as any trade—but unlike other professions where formal training exists, benefits professionals, employers, and even individuals are often left to figure it out through years of trial and error. The problem? No one has the time or energy for that.
Worse yet, if you want to learn, your only real option is to fend for yourself or rely on insurance companies, solutions, and partners to “educate” you. But let’s be honest—that’s just a glorified sales pitch. They aren’t teaching you how to objectively evaluate benefits, question assumptions, or navigate the system strategically. They’re teaching you how to buy their products.
Why I Built Insurance
for COWS?
I’ve been on all sides of this business:
- Started in HR before moving into employee benefits as an analyst
- Served as a consultant, sales leader, and practice leader
- Worked on both the carrier and solutions side
What I’ve learned? Most people struggle not because they lack intelligence, but because the system was never designed to be easy to understand.
That’s why I built Insurance for COWS—a no-BS, real-world education platform that pulls back the curtain on benefits and teaches you what actually matters.

Who We Are
Insurance for COWS isn’t just me—it’s a team of active practitioners who live and breathe this work every day. Our curriculum is built by people who actually do this work from all sides of the business, not by people who “used to” do it. Every course is peer-reviewed to ensure it’s practical, relevant, and immediately applicable.
What We Believe
- Benefits should be easier to understand.
- Employers should be able to make strategic, informed decisions.Â
- Benefits professionals should get real education—not just sales tactics.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re missing the key to understanding this industry, you’re in the right place. Let’s fix that—together.
